Dear Roosevelt Early Learning Center Families,

Welcome to Roosevelt Early Learning Center! We are thrilled to welcome your child to our school community. This year will be an amazing journey of growth for your little one as they learn, play, make new friends, and discover something new every day.

To ensure a smooth and successful start, please review these key details for the upcoming school year:

Important Dates & Events

• Classroom Visit Night: Join us to tour the classroom and meet the teacher before school begins on Thursday, August 27th, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
• First Day of School: Our official first day of school is Monday, August 31st. We look forward to seeing you and your child.

First Day Supply Checklist

Please bring the following items, clearly labeled with your child's name where possible:

• Standard-sized backpack (large enough to fit all daily items)                                                                
• Water bottle & Lunch box (including lunch or daily snacks)
• Change of clothes (including extra underwear)
• Blanket (for designated rest time for Full Day students)
• Diapers and wipes (only if applicable to your child)

Curriculum & Learning Focus

Our teachers utilize the Creative Curriculum, aligned with the Connecticut Early Learning Development Standards (CT ELDS) and TS GOLD. Your child will participate in hands-on explorations and group activities designed to build vocabulary and conceptual understanding. We will share study updates throughout the year to help connect school learning to your home. Our first two foundational units will be: The First Six Weeks and Trees.

 Parent-Teacher Communication

• Daily Updates: Pre-K teachers utilize the "Engage" app for regular curriculum updates. Your child’s teacher will provide you with connection details shortly.
• Urgent & Time-Sensitive Matters: Teachers are actively engaged with students and cannot check messages immediately. For time sensitive issues, such as dismissal changes, absences, or early pickups, please call the main office directly at 860-827-2017.
